Technology Application:

 

Crude hydrogen (mainly CH4, Co, CO2, H2 and H2O) is produced from natural gas (low carbon chain hydrocarbons) by steam reforming process, and then purified by pressure swing adsorption technology to obtain hydrogen with purity meeting the requirements of users.
The natural gas is compressed to the appropriate pressure (according to the user's gas consumption and the optimal operating pressure) by the compressor, and then it is preheated for fine desulfurization. Then it enters the reformer with a certain proportion of steam for reaction. Then it passes through the waste heat boiler of the reformer gas, recovers the heat of the reformer gas, and enters the intermediate reformer for conversion reaction to obtain the crude hydrogen. After a series of heat exchange and cooling, the natural gas is cooled, Enter the pressure swing adsorption device, and finally purify.

Steam Methane Reforming - Hydrogen Production

Appropriate reforming temperature, water-carbon ratio and coefficient of excess combustion air are of much significance to energy consumption of hydrogen production device

(1) Improving reforming temperate appropriately is in favor of lowering unit consumption of hydrogen production; it is particularly obvious for device with decarbonization unit.

(2) Unit consumption of hydrogen production will decline slightly when water-carbon ratio is decreased from 3.5 to 3.0; therefore, during operation, water-carbon ratio is not suggested to lower to pretty low level deliberately, so as to ensure device can be operated continuously for a long period.

(3) Increase of combustion air needs much fuel consumption. Excess air should be reduced as far as possible and fuel consumption can be decreased by burning hot air.
