Function Unit

Functions and features of the PDH unit

Functions and Features	Description
Basic function	Transmits and receives 4xE1 services.
Alarm and performance event	Supports various alarms and performance events, which facilitates the management and maintenance of the equipment; supports the alarm reversion function.
Clock source	Supports the settings and query of 4xE1 clock re-timing function. Supports the extraction of E1 clocks over channel 1 only.
Maintenance features	Supports inloop and outloop at E1 ports so that faults can be located quickly. Supports the setting of overhead bytes to be sent/received, thus enabling the board to function as an overhead instrument. Supports the settings of thresholds for the excessive errors. Supports pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS).
Overhead processing	Processes path overheads at the VC-12 rate. Supports the settings and query of overhead bytes such as J2 and V5.
Other functions	Supports three types of E1 interfaces: RJ-45 (120 ohms), BNC (75 ohms), and DB15 (X.21).

LCAS	Supports link capacity adjustment scheme (LCAS).
LPT	Supports point-to-point link pass through (LPT).
RMON	Supports remote network monitoring (RMON).
Transfer or discard of frames shorter than 64 bytes	Supports the discard (default setting) or transfer of frames shorter than 64 bytes. This function can be enabled or disabled on the NMS.
Frames with frame check sequence (FCS) errors	Supports the transparent transmission of frames with FCS errors. This function can be enabled or disabled on the NMS.
Minimum frame length	Supports the setting of the minimum frame length to 64 bytes.
