Technically speaking an ideal diode is just a regular diode in that it only allows electricity to flow in one direction but what makes it special is that the forward voltage drop is extremely low.
How does an ideal diode work?
An Ideal Diode has zero resistance when forward-biased, allowing
infinite current to flow, and infinite resistance when
reverse-biased, blocking all currents.
The theoretical characteristics of an Ideal Diode, such as zero forward resistance and infinite reverse resistance, are oversimplified for ease of understanding.
If the positive side of a voltage source is connected to the positive end of the diode (the anode), and the negative side is connected to the negative end of the diode (the cathode), the diode will conduct current. If the diode is reversed, the current is blocked (up to a limit)

not be burned if the positive and negative poles are connected
reversely, which improves the safety of installation;
2. The ideal diode is a diode with ultra-low internal resistance as
the name implies. The conduction voltage drop of ordinary diodes is
more than 0.6V. The conduction voltage drop of an ideal diode is
almost negligible.
3. The copper foil layer and aluminum base layer of the aluminum
substrate PCB traces are insulated with a withstand voltage of
1000V, so there is no need to worry about breakdown problems. The
thermal conductivity is 20 times faster than FR4 glass fiber, and
can be directly attached to the large heat sink.
4. This ideal diode module cannot be used in rectifier circuits!
5. The waterproof potting module has a thickened radiator, which
has higher heat dissipation efficiency and lower continuous current
heating. It is suitable for modification enthusiasts!
