Description
Vertical mill is a grinding equipment that integrates fine
crushing, drying, grinding, powder selection, and conveying. It is
widely used for the grinding and ultra fine crushing of various
solid materials in industries such as cement, building materials,
power, metallurgy, chemical, non-metallic minerals, etc.
The grinding process of a vertical mill is completed by a set of
grinding devices (i.e. rollers and discs), where the material is
ground into powder between the rollers and discs. The movement of
the grinding device is driven by the rotation of the grinding disc
and the corresponding transmission of the grinding roller. In
addition to the weight of the grinding roller, the grinding
pressure mainly relies on a set of hydraulic devices to pressurize
the material of the grinding disc. After grinding, there is a large
amount of coarse powder in the material. The powder is selected by
a matching powder selection machine, and the powder selection
process is through air flow sorting. During the air flow process,
most of the coarse powder automatically falls onto the grinding
disc and is received for re grinding. The rest is selected as
finished products by the powder selection machine and sent to the
finished product storage warehouse through the dust collection and
transportation system.
The residence time of materials on the grinding disc is mainly
determined by three factors: first, the grinding disc speed that
affects the magnitude of centrifugal force; The second is the
frictional force between the material and the grinding disc, as
well as the internal frictional force of the material itself; The
third factor is the structural form and coordination between the
grinding disc and the grinding roller, which determines the motion
travel mode. The third factor is the key to determining the design
ideas of each vertical mill manufacturer. Different forms of
grinding rollers and discs determine the speed of the grinding
discs and the residence time of materials on the grinding discs of
each manufacturer. When selecting a vertical mill, users must
choose a suitable one based on the characteristics of the grinding
material.
Limestone Vertical Mill Working principle:
The electric motor drives the grinding disc to rotate through the
reducer, and the material falls into the center of the grinding
disc from the feeding port. At the same time, hot air enters the
grinding chamber from the inlet. Under the action of centrifugal
force, the material moves towards the edge of the grinding disc and
is crushed by the grinding roller when passing through the circular
groove on the grinding disc. The crushed material is carried up by
the high-speed airflow at the wind ring at the edge of the grinding
disc, and large particles directly fall onto the grinding disc for
re grinding. When the material in the airflow passes through the
dynamic and static separator, under the action of the rotating
rotor, the coarse powder falls onto the grinding disc for re
grinding, and the qualified fine powder is discharged with the
airflow, Collecting in the powder collection device is the product.
Materials containing moisture are dried during contact with hot
gases to achieve the required product moisture.

For a large machine with four grinding rollers, when one or two symmetrical grinding rollers are being repaired, the other two symmetrical grinding rollers can be used to operate, which can reach 60-70% of the normal production capacity without affecting or minimizing the entire production line.
