How to calculate the brightness of P5 (Pixel density: 40000 pixels/sq.m), 1/8 constant scanning Taxi LED Display?
(R) 900mcd + (G) 1000mcd + (B) 300mcd/1000 x 40000(Pixel density: 40000 pixels/sq.m) / 8(1/8 scan) x 70% = 7000cd/sq.m;
Theoretically, the brightness of our P5 Outdoor SMD2525 Taxi LED Display has 7000nits brightness. However, as most taxis now in the market are driven by gasoline, it won't be economical if the taxi led display consumes too much power. Then we limit the brightness to 5500 - 6000nits. The advertising contents on the taxi led display can be seen even under direct sunlight.
Energy-saving:
According to our energy-saving design of PCB and other factors, we only use one set of 4.2V-90A DC-DC convertor(Brand: Great wall), so the maximum power consumption is only:
378W;
and average power consumption is:
80- 200W;
Another feature of the SMD2525 led lamp is that we make use of larger-sized led chips with small electrical current:
R: 9mil x 9mil Counter electrode; LED chip brand: Epistar;
G: 9mil x 11mil; LED chip brand: Silan;
B: 9mi x 11mil; LED chip brand: Silan;
Compared with smaller-sized led chips, larger-sized led chips can generate more lights with the same electrical current.
Some people may quote you that their taxi led display has about 5000nits brightness by using SMD3528. It is a joke! SMD3528 is used only for INDOOR APPLICATONS, as the raw material of SMD3528, the silicone it uses are not anti-UV. As we all know, there is UV-rays in the lighting of sunlight.
