was only 60,000 tons, which increased to 119,000 tons in 2017,
about 139,300 tons in 2018, and 154,000 tons in 2019.
In 2017, China's imports of brandy rose by 61.8% and 34.8%
respectively compared with 2015 and 2016, respectively, and the
growth rate was the fastest among imported wines. 2017 was a record
year for , with global exports reaching the highest levels of value
and volume. The United States imported 87.4 million bottles of in
2018, ranking first; Singapore imported 27.2 million bottles,
ranking second; and China's imports reached 24.4 million bottles,
ranking third.
In the first half of 2021, China's spirits imports were US$986
million, an increase of 110.16% year-on-year, and imports were
64.1728 million liters, an increase of 45.91% year-on-year. Among
them, the import volume of brandy was 20.61 million liters, an
increase of 61.2% year-on-year, and the import value was 630
million US dollars, an increase of 133.6% year-on-year, accounting
for about 63.8% of the total import of spirits.
