Why samples need to do HAST aging test?
JESD22-A110E Standard High Humidity High Pressure Testing Chamber
is a type of environmental chamber used to test the reliability and
durability of electronic components and products under extreme
conditions. The function of a HAST chamber is to accelerate the
aging process of a product by subjecting it to high temperature and
high humidity conditions.
During the HAST test, the product is placed in a sealed chamber
that is heated to a high temperature, typically between 110°C to
130°C, and exposed to a high humidity environment, usually around
65% to 100% relative humidity (RH). The high temperature and
humidity levels cause the materials and components of the product
to expand and contract rapidly, which can accelerate the aging
process and reveal any weaknesses or failures.
The HAST test is a useful tool for manufacturers to evaluate the
long-term reliability and durability of their products, as well as
to identify potential design flaws or weaknesses that could lead to
product failure in the field. By subjecting the product to
accelerated aging conditions in a HAST chamber, manufacturers can
simulate years of use in a matter of days or weeks, helping them to
develop more robust and reliable products.
