What is a vertical coal mill used for?
Vertical coal mills are suitable for grinding medium hardness
materials such as bituminous coal, and are used in positive
pressure direct blowing pulverization systems for burning
bituminous coal. They are applied in industries such as power,
metallurgy, building materials, and chemical engineering. This
machine not only has the characteristics of low unit power
consumption, small floor area, simple pulverizing system, low
noise, and reliable operation, but also has unique advantages such
as large crushing ratio, long service life of grinding parts, wide
material application range, and good applicability at high and low
loads.

Performance characteristics
The three grinding rollers of the coal mill are driven by a
rotating grinding disc for grinding operations. After the incoming
material falls onto the grinding plate through the central coal
chute, it is transported to the grinding roller track for grinding
by the centrifugal force generated by the rotating grinding plate.
The grinding pressure is generated by springs or hydraulic pressure
devices, and is uniformly transmitted to the three grinding rollers
through a static three-point system. The pressure is then
transmitted to the foundation through the pressure system. The
drying and transportation of coal powder are carried out using hot
air. The hot air is evenly distributed around the grinding disc
through the nozzle ring, drying the ground material and conveying
it to the separator on the upper part of the mill. The coarse and
fine powder of the material is separated here, the fine powder is
discharged from the mill, and the coarse powder is returned to the
mill for grinding. Some non crushable substances in the material
can be discharged through the discharge port at the lower part of
the mill. The coal mill mainly consists of basic parts, reducer,
lower frame machine, middle frame machine, grinding disc, grinding
roller, pressure device, separator, positive pressure air sealing
device, steam blowing device, and other components. It is also
equipped with auxiliary equipment such as main motor, lubricating
oil station, hydraulic station, and sealing fan, as well as slow
speed transmission device, installation and maintenance special
tools, escalator platform, coal powder distributor, quick break
valve, and other supporting equipment for users to choose from. The
coal mill adopts a hydraulic pressurization system, which can
adjust the grinding pressure during operation and has better iron
passing protection performance. On the basis of the original
standard model, a grinding roller tilting device has been added and
the anti explosion ability of the grinding body has been improved.
Working principle: The electric motor drives the grinding disc to rotate through a
reducer, and the material falls into the center of the grinding
disc from the feeding port. At the same time, hot air enters the
grinding chamber from the air inlet. Under the action of
centrifugal force, materials move towards the edge of the grinding
plate. When passing through the circular groove on the grinding
plate, they are crushed by the grinding roller. The crushed
materials are picked up by the Jet stream at the wind ring at the
edge of the grinding plate. Large particles fall directly onto the
grinding plate for grinding again. When the materials in the
airflow pass through the dynamic and static separator, under the
action of the rotating rotor, the coarse powder falls onto the
grinding plate for grinding again. The qualified fine powder is
grinded together with the airflow, Collect in the powder collection
device, which is the product. Materials containing moisture are
dried during contact with hot gases to achieve the required product
moisture.
