What is A182 grade F60?
ASTM A182 F60 is a forging material specification for 60 grade stainless steel and is used for manufacturing bare forgings or forged and machined products for applications involving high temperature service.
What is astm A182 gr f60 equivalent to?
F60 of ASTM A182 are called “alloy 2205” or “duplex 2205”, however, the UNS number of the former is S31803 while that of the latter is S32205.
Although neither ASME B16.5 nor ASME B16.47 has endorsed ASTM A182 F60 as a listed material, they have endorsed the use of ASTM A182 F51 as flange material. ASTM A182 F60 flanges can be treated as flanges made of ASTM A182 F51 with narrower composition range. The pressure-temperature ratings for ASTM A182 F51 flanges are also applicable to ASTM A182 F60 flanges. In this situation, ASTM A182 F60 can be viewed as S31803/ S32205 dual certified grade.
The ASTM A182 F60 Flanges are available in various sizes ranging from ½ inches to 36 inches. These flanges have different dimensions and standards, which result in varying pressure ratings. The pressure capacities are determined by the pressure classes, which range from class 150 to class 2500.
The A182 F60 Flanges can have different face types, including flat face, raised face, or ring type joint flange. The production types of these flanges can be plate flange, threaded flange, screwed flange, or forged flange.
The material composition of the A182 F60 UNS S32205 Flanges includes carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen, iron, 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, and 4.5% nickel. This composition gives the flanges a minimum tensile strength of 800MPa, a minimum yield strength of 550MPa, and a 15% elongation rate.
The A182 F60 Threaded Flanges have female threads at the ends, which can be connected with male threaded pipe ends. Additionally, the threaded flanges can also be welded for a stronger connection.
These flanges find application in various industries such as offshore oil drilling, sea water, pollution control, waste water management, and oil and gas industrial applications.
