Monel 400 has excellent corrosion resistance and is corroded by many reducing media such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acid. Compared with high copper alloys, it is generally more resistant to corrosion than oxidizing media. Monel 400 resists pitting and stress corrosion cracking in most fresh and industrial water uses.
