   Stainless steel wire mesh, also known as wire cloth or wire fabric, is renowned for its remarkable versatility. The distinguishing characteristic of wire mesh is the matrix of wires that are arranged at 90-degree angles.

 

   Stainless steel wire mesh with its excellent resistance against acid, alkali, heat and corrosion, find extensively uses in processing of oil, chemical, food, making wire mesh filter, also sorting and screening of solid, liquid and gas in mine, metallurgy, airspace and machine making etc.

 

   "Mesh" is the unit of specification for stainless steel wire mesh, which refers to how many holes there are in a length of 1 inch (25.4 mm). 100 mesh stainless steel wire mesh is 100 meshes in one inch length. 100 mesh stainless steel wire mesh is also called 100 mesh filter cloth, 100 mesh filter screen, 100 mesh screen and so on.

 

   There are usually two ways of weaving 100 mesh stainless steel wire mesh: plain weave and twill weave. The wire diameters suitable for the production of plain weave 100X100mesh stainless steel wire mesh are 0.12mm,0.10mm.     T-304 is the basic stainless alloy, containing 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel. It's not as corrosion resistant as T-316, but it's acceptable (and more affordable) for most uses, unless otherwise specified.

 

    Although it melts at 2,600 degrees F (1430 degrees C), it’s best for use at 1450 degrees F (790 degrees C) for continuous service and 1650 degrees F (900 C) for intermediate service. Its uses include sorting and screening of abrasives, liquids, powders and other solids.

    T316 is a special stainless alloy, which contains 18 percent chromium and 10 percent nickel, as well as 2 percent molybdenum. This combination enables the mesh to resist corrosion from salts, acids, and seawater.

     T-316 melts at 2500 degrees F (1375 C), but its maximum recommended temperature for continuous service is 1500 degrees F. (815 C) and is useful for intermediate service up to 1650 degrees F (900 C). Its uses include processing oils and foods, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

 

 

The main difference between 316 and 304 in chemical composition is that 316 contains Mo, and it is generally recognized that 316 has better       corrosion resistance and is more resistant to corrosion in high temperature environments than 304. Therefore, in high-temperature environments, engineers generally choose 316 stainless steel wire mesh.

 

  Due to the different chemical composition content of stainless steel of different materials, the degree of heat resistance of stainless steel wire mesh is also different. The temperature that the stainless steel mesh withstands is also different from the actual temperature.
