60/40 Polyester Epoxy Resin with Excellent Leveling for Hybrid Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
HH2686P is a carboxyl polyester resin designed for 60/40 hybrid powder coatings.
After years of development, powder coatings have made great progress, and their market shares and application fields have continued to expand. Amorphous polyester resins are currently mainly used in powder coatings. A remarkable feature of amorphous polyester resins is that there is a positive correlation between their glass transition temperature and melt viscosity, that is, the higher the viscosity, the higher the glass transition temperature. However, for powder coatings, polyester resins are expected to have a high glass transition temperature to ensure storage stability, and polyester resins are expected to have low melt viscosity, so that they have excellent flow properties. A coating with better wetting properties to pigments, resulting in better leveling properties.
The Tg of HH2686P is relatively low, and the melt viscosity is relatively low, so the powder coating prepared from it has excellent fluidity, and the polyester resin has better wetting performance for the pigment during curing, so as to obtain better leveling performance .
