Achromatic Λ/2 Half Wave Plate, Wide Spectral Bandwidth For Tunable Lasers
Overview: Zero-Order Achromatic Wave Plates (Retarders) are constructed by aligning the fast axis of a birefringent quartz plate with the slow axis of another birefringent plate made from magnesium fluoride or UV sapphire, resulting in a relative phase delay of λ/2 or λ/4 between the two axises. Half Wave Plates can rotate the polarization plane of linearly polarized light. The relative shifts in retardation over the wavelength range are balanced between the two materials used. The flat response of an Achromatic Waveplate (Retarder) allows them to be ideally used with tunable lasers, multiple laser line systems, and other broad-spectrum sources.
Star optic offers Achromatic Waveplates (Retarders) in air spaced and cemented feature. And air spaced waveplates are mounted in a black anodized aluminium housing with the fast axis clearly indicated. For cemented waveplates, you can choose mount or not according to your needs.
