Tong Torque & Tong Line Pull System Drilling Instruments CTT100 / CTT101

Tong torque system consists of tong torque load cell, tong torque gauge (installed in the driller display), and hydraulic hose.
Load cell installed in the wire line of the power tong, when the drill pipe screws, it will be the pulling force which is proportional with the tightening torque on the wire line rope. This pulling force act on hydraulic fluid through piston of load cell, connect wire line to transmit on the bourdon tube of the gauge. The bourdon tube moves, it makes the pointer through the movement, then indicates the force of the power tong. Use power tong or casing tongs, May not use load cells, connects wire line in power tong or in casing tongs hydraulic pressure source directly.

Tong Line Pull System description of Drilling Instruments

The system Indicates make-up or breakout torque (in pounds of line pull) for tool joints, drill collars, and drill string components. This type of system is used in applications where there are more than on set of tongs being used with different handle lengths. A 6" fluid-filled gauge reads directly in pounds of line pull which works in conjunction with a load cell that is connected directly to the tong handle. To determine the actual torque being applied you multiply the gauge reading by the tong handle length in feet. The gauge comes complete with target pointer that the driller sets to a corresponding torque requirement. A large variety of systems are available with up to 30.000 pounds of single line pull.
