Quick-Release Thread Protector Description of Drilling Rig Spare Parts
Quick release thread protector is used to protect steel pipe thread from abrasion and damage in the process of loading, unloading and transportation. It is a kind of manual device and its structure is very simple. It is composed of three parts: main body, link stopper and compressor bar. All of the three parts are made from NR/NBR, so quick release thread protector is highly resistant to oil, abrasion and corrosion. It has solid structure and long life span, and it performs well in protecting casing thread, so it is widely used. Besides, it saves time and lowers cost.
The operation of quick release thread protector is very simple. Place the quick release thread protector at the end of steel pipe thread and then push the handle firmly toward the steel pipe center and the quick release thread protector is fixed on the pipe. You can take the quick release thread protector off steel pipe by pulling the handle up.
Clamp-on thread protectors are made of high quality special spring-steel cage and tough special polymers and polyurethane to protect casing or tubing threads, Thread Protectors are designed with stainless steel handles to ensure quick gripping and removing from pipes, Thread Protectors are available for casing with BTC thread or tubing with V-A-M thread, short circle thread connect or V-A-M thread, size of thread protectors range from 4½" to 24", thread protectors can serve for weather conditions from -46°C to 66°C.
