Negative temperature coefficient thermistor, also known as NTC thermistor, is a kind of sensor resistance whose resistance value decreases with the increase of temperature. Widely used in various electronic components, such as temperature sensors, resettable fuses and self-adjusting heaters, etc.

 













How to identify the thermistor is good or bad:

Thermistors have different temperature response parameters, and the temperature response curve of the thermistor to be tested must be obtained first. Measure the resistance of the thermistor with an ohmmeter at different ambient temperatures:
1. Normal temperature detection (indoor temperature is close to 25°C), use crocodile clips instead of test leads to clamp the two pins of the PTC thermistor to measure the actual resistance value, and compare it with the nominal resistance value, the difference between the two is ±2Ω Inside is normal. If the actual resistance value differs too much from the nominal resistance value, it indicates that its performance is poor or damaged.
2. Heating detection. On the basis of the normal temperature test, the second step of testing - heating detection can be carried out. Put a heat source (such as an electric soldering iron) close to the thermistor to heat it, and observe the multi-purpose indicator. At this time If you see that the multi-purpose reading changes with the increase of temperature.
This indicates that the resistance value is gradually changing (the resistance value of the negative temperature coefficient thermistor NTC will become smaller, and the resistance value of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor PTC will become larger), and when the resistance value changes to a certain value, the displayed data will gradually stabilize , indicating that the thermistor is normal. If the resistance value does not change, it indicates that its performance has deteriorated and cannot continue to be used.
