Introduce the electromagnet (Solenoid Coil & Armature Assembly) from two aspects:

Electromagnets use magnetic circuits to convert electrical energy into magnetic energy, and then convert magnetic energy into mechanical energy that causes the moving iron core to move linearly. The electromagnet is usually composed of three main parts: an exciting coil, a static iron core and a moving iron core.

 

(1) According to the current classification through the exciting coil, there are a DC electromagnet and an AC electromagnet.

 

Since the DC electromagnet has no hysteresis eddy current loss, the core can be made of a single piece of ferromagnetic material. The moving iron core is often made into a cylindrical shape, which is called an I-shaped electromagnet or a solenoid-type electromagnet. Compared with the T-shaped electromagnet, the structure is compact, small in size, short in stroke, light in moving parts, small in impact force, and full in air gap. It is in the coil of the solenoid and produces a large suction force. However, the DC electromagnet should prevent the residual magnetism from being too large and affect normal operation.

 

When the AC electromagnet is connected to an alternating current, there is a hysteresis eddy current loss in the core. An integral I-shaped electromagnet can be used on the small electromagnet and on the electromagnetic pilot valve. In the direct-acting solenoid valve that requires a large suction force, in order to reduce the iron loss heat, a T-shaped electromagnet is often used, and the iron core is formed by laminating silicon steel sheets to reduce iron consumption and heat. The T-shaped electromagnet movable member has a large weight and has a large impact force during operation, but has a large suction force and a large stroke.

 

(2) Beep

For 50 Hz AC, there are 100 suctions per second of zero. The moving iron core began to return to its original position due to the loss of suction. However, in a short period of time, the suction force increased again, and the moving iron core was re-engaged, forming a moving iron core to vibrate and beep. The precaution is to provide a magnetic separation ring on the suction surface of the electromagnet. The magnetic flux in the magnetic pole surrounded by the magnetic separation ring is sometimes inferior to the magnetic flux in the magnetic pole at the end of the surrounding portion, and the corresponding suction force is sometimes poor, so that the total suction force of the movable iron core at any instant is not zero, and the vibration can be eliminated. The smaller the resistance of the magnetic separation ring, the better (such as brass, copper), but too small will cause the current flowing through the magnetic separation ring to be too large and the loss is large. Setting the magnetic separation ring naturally reduces the mechanical strength. Because the magnetic ring is often broken, the life is reduced.

 

There is no buzzing sound in the DC electromagnet.
