Principle of Treatment
Treatment principle for pigmented dermatosis of Q-Switched Nd:YAG
Laser. Therapy system lies in selective photothermolysis with
melanin as the chromophore.
Q-Switched Nd:YAG has higher Peak power and nanoseconds-level pulse
width. Melanin in melanophore and cuticle formed cells have a short
hot relaxation time. It could immediately make small selectively
energy absorbed granules (tattoo pigment and melanin) blast without
injuring surrounded normal tissues. The blasted pigment granules
will be excreted from body through circulatory system.
Treatment Principle
The machine utilizing the explosive effect of the ND: YAG LASER,
the laser permeates the epidermis into the dermis and takes effect
on pigment mass and is absorbed by pigment. Since the laser pulses
is extremely short in nanosecond and comes with super high energy,
the pigment mass would swell quickly and break into small pieces,
which will be eliminated through metabolism. In this case, the
pigments become lighter gradually and finally disappear.

Contraindications
In clinical treatment, patients with following conditions are not allowed to take the treatment unless the impacting factors are eliminated.
1. Patients with endocrine disorder, cicatricial physics, damaged or infected skin and pigmentation idiosyncrasy.
2. Patients partially being applied with corticosteroid hormone in 2 weeks or having retinoid drugs in half a year.
3. Patients with active tuberculosis, hyperthyroidism and failure of heart, liver and kidney.
4. Light sensitive skin disease and photosensitivity drugs users.
5. Patients in pregnancy or suckling period.
6. Patients having dermatoma, cataract and aphakia or being treated with radiotherapy or isotope therapy.
7. Patient with history of melanoma, serious light injury and having taken ionizing radiation or arsenicals.
8. Patient with weakened immune system.
9. Patient with blood coagulation disorder.
10. Patient of mentally disorder, psychoneurosis and epileptics.
Side Effects and Taboos
1. For the darker skin patient, it is not suggestable to randomly adopt high energy because the superficial skin layer pigment’s absorption of laser makesit relatively higher riskif the skin is lightly damaged.
2. The skin may appear red and swollen, skin infiltration of blood and inflammatory reactions after the laser operation. Unguent for scald and scar avoidance shall be used after treatment.
3. For parts of pigments which contains metal ion (such as iron ion), some of dark chemicals (like ferrous oxide), which are difficult to be absorbed after laser treatment, may darker treatment areas. This is caused by different structures of pigments, which has no relations to the device quality.
4. Keep the treatment area dry and clean and protect it from infection.
