grow high-quality single-crystal materials, such as diamond,
silicon, and gallium arsenide.
The process involves introducing a gas mixture containing the
desired material precursors into a high-temperature reaction
chamber, where they react and deposit onto a heated substrate. The
substrate is typically a single crystal seed material that acts as
a template for the crystal growth.
The growth conditions, such as temperature, pressure, and gas
composition, are carefully controlled to ensure the formation of a
high-quality single crystal. In addition, the substrate surface
must be carefully prepared to provide a suitable nucleation site
for the crystal growth.

How to choose the orientation?
Generally speaking, if the diamond cutter is required to obtain the highest strength, the (100) crystal plane should be selected as the front and flank surfaces of the cutter,
if the diamond tool is required to resist mechanical wear, the (110) crystal plane should be selected as the front and rear of the cutter.
If the diamond tool is required to resist chemical wear, the (110) crystal plane should be used as the rake surface of the tool,
the (100) crystal plane as the flank surface, or the (100) crystal
plane should be used for both the front and the flank surfaces.
