Stainless Steel Hex Nipples description
A hex nipple is a fitting that is constructed from a piece of pipe that has a hexagonal section in the middle used for a pipe wrench to fit onto and used to tighten or loosen. A hex nipple can be stainless steel or another metal. The hex nipple has threads on each end that are used to connect two other fittings or pipe. When measuring, the length of the nipple includes the threaded area at each end. The piece is turned into place with a wrench on the hexagonal section of the nipple. Hex nipples can have ends with different sizes categorizing them as reducer or unequaled nipples.
