• Kailh: Known for a wide variety of switch types and styles.
• Razer: Custom switches made for gaming, often featuring unique designs.

3. Factors to Consider

• Actuation Force: The amount of force required to press a key. Lighter switches (e.g., Red) require less force, while heavier switches (e.g., Black) require more.
• Travel Distance: The distance a key travels before it's actuated. Most switches have a travel distance of around 4mm.
• Durability: Mechanical switches can last for tens of millions of keystrokes, making them more durable than membrane switches.

Many mechanical keyboards allow for switch swapping, enabling users to customize their typing experience. Hot-swappable keyboards let you change switches without soldering.
