EPP series AC power lightning protector consists of multiple single
lightning protection chips, which can be freely combined into
single-phase or three-phase protection for different power
distribution systems to prevent damage to low-voltage power
equipment from inductive overvoltage or operational
overvoltage.EPP65T is usually used for secondary protection.
Protection in stages
The first level of protection
The purpose is to prevent the surge voltage directly from the LPZ0
zone conducted into the LPZ1 zone, tens of thousands to hundreds of
thousands of volts of surge voltage limit to 2500-3000V.
Into the power transformer low-voltage side of the installation of
power lightning protector as the first level of protection should
be three-phase voltage switch type power lightning protector, the
lightning flux should not be less than 60KA. the level of power
lightning protector should be connected to the user power supply
system inlet between each phase and the earth's high-capacity power
lightning protector. Generally require the level of power lightning
protector with a maximum impact capacity of 100KA or more per
phase, the required limit voltage is less than 1500V, called CLASS
I power lightning protector. These electromagnetic lightning
protectors are designed to withstand high currents from lightning
and induced lightning strikes and to attract high-energy surges
that can divert large amounts of surge current to earth. They only
provide limiting voltage (inrush current flow through the power
supply lightning protector, the maximum voltage appearing on the
line is called limiting voltage) for the medium level of
protection, because CLASS I protectors are mainly absorbed by large
surge currents, they alone can not fully protect the power supply
system inside the sensitive power equipment.
The first level of power supply lightning protector can prevent
10/350μs, 100KA lightning wave, to the highest protection standards
specified by IEC. Its technical reference is: lightning flux
greater than or equal to 100KA (10/350μs); residual voltage value
is not greater than 2.5KV; response time is less than or equal to
100ns.

These units must be installed in parallel on the dc networks to be protected and provide common
and different modes protection. Its installed location are recommended at both ends of the dc
power supply line (solar panel side and inverter/converter side), especially if the line routing is
external and long.
