Product Description:

Meilong Tube's Downhole Control Lines

Meilong Tube's downhole control lines are primarily used as communication conduits for hydraulically operated downhole devices in oil, gas, and water-injection wells. These lines can handle extreme harsh conditions, and they can be custom configured for a variety of applications and downhole components.

The material selection is based on different criteria such as bottomhole temperature, hardness, tensile and tear strength, water absorption and gas permeability, oxidation, and abrasion and chemical resistance. Furthermore, they have undergone extensive development, including crush testing and high-pressure autoclave well simulation, showing that these lines have a higher loading capacity which can maintain functional integrity.

Duplex 2507

Duplex 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel that is designed for applications which require strength and corrosion resistance. It is comprised of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. The higher molybdenum, chromium, and nitrogen content makes it resistant to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion attack. In addition, the duplex structure gives it exceptional resistance against chloride stress corrosion cracking.

Duplex 2507 can be used to lower the overall cost of fabrication due to its excellent mechanical properties. As it has a light gauge, it is able to achieve the same strength as thicker nickel alloy materials, thus reducing a product's overall weight.

Duplex 2507 is highly resistant to uniform corrosion by organic acids, such as formic and acetic acid, as well as inorganic acids with chlorides. Its ferritic portion of the duplex structure makes it highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking in warm chloride containing environments. In addition, localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice attack are improved through the addition of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen, and is shown to have excellent resistance to pitting.

However, due to the structure, it is important to note that usage of Duplex 2507 should be limited to applications below 600° F (316° C), and that exposure to higher temperatures can lead to a reduction in toughness and corrosion resistance of the alloy.

Our control lines are supplied in orbital-weld-free lengths of up to 40,000 feet (12,192 meters), so we can maximize their reliability. Additionally, a variety of single, double, or triple flat-packs are available. These can be combined with downhole electrical cables and/or bumper wires for ease of operation and deployment.

We employ the welded-and-plug-drawn production method, which results in a smooth, round tube. This ultimately allows us to consistently achieve long-term metal seals on our terminations. Furthermore, the encapsulation materials we use are selected specifically to be suitable to well conditions, so they can ensure reliability and longevity.

According to ASTM A789 / ASME SA789, UNS S32205, UNS S32750, the tolerance of outside diameter and wall thickness are described as following:

For the pipe with O.D. smaller than 1/2’’ (12.7 mm), the O.D. tolerance is ±0.005’’ (±0.13 mm) and the wall thickness tolerance is ±15%.

For the pipe with O.D between 1/2’’ and 1’’ (12.7-25.4 mm), the O.D. tolerance is ±0.005’’ (±0.13 mm) and the wall thickness tolerance is ±10%.

Meilong Tube Standard

On the other hand, Meilong Tube provides even more precise tubes. The tolerance of outside diameter and wall thickness are described as following:

For the pipe with O.D. smaller than 1/2’’ (12.7 mm), the O.D. tolerance is ±0.004’’ (±0.10 mm) and the wall thickness tolerance is ±10%.

For the pipe with O.D between 1/2’’ and 1’’ (12.7-25.4 mm), the O.D. tolerance is ±0.004’’ (±0.10 mm) and the wall thickness tolerance is ±8%.
