Description
A signal surge protector is an electronic device that protects
instruments, equipment or systems on signal lines from damage
caused by lightning strikes or other transient overvoltages.
The main principle of the signal surge protector is to discharge
the high-voltage surge generated on the line to the earth and limit
it to the range that the protected object can tolerate, thus
playing the role of voltage limiting protection.
The main components of signal surge protectors include discharge
tubes, varistors, suppression diodes, choke coils, etc. According
to their working principles, they can be divided into voltage
switching type, voltage limiting type and combined type.
