Products Description
XPS is a rigid foam board manufactured by heating and mixing while
injecting a catalyst, and then extrusion molding. Its scientific
name is extruded polystyrene foam for heat insulation (XPS for
short), and XPS has a perfect closed-cell honeycomb Structure, this
structure makes XPS board have extremely low water absorption
(almost no water absorption), low thermal conductivity, high
compression resistance, and aging resistance (almost no aging
decomposition phenomenon in normal use).
Application
Building roof insulation, steel structure roof, building wall
insulation, building ground moisturizing, square ground, ground
frost heave control, central air conditioning ventilation ducts,
etc.
Products feature
1. Thermal insulation performance:
The insulation performance of EPS and XPS with the same thickness
is gradually improved. EPS is 0.041 and XPS is 0.030. Therefore, to
achieve the same thermal insulation effect, the XPS board is
thinner than the EPS board, but the price of the pure board is more
expensive than the EPS board. If the process and the height of the
building are fully considered, the price per square meter of XPS is
more expensive than EPS.
For heat insulation, it mainly depends on the thermal inertia index
D, and the D value is directly proportional to the heat storage
coefficient. But as far as the whole system is concerned, the heat
storage of 200mm concrete is large enough, and the external
insulation layer can fully meet the energy-saving requirements.
This is also the reason why the national code requires the
comprehensive thermal conductivity and thermal storage coefficient
of the wall to meet the requirements at the same time. Either EPS
or XPS thin plastering systems fully meet the requirements.
2. Strength:
The strength pointed out here should be the tensile strength. The
bulk density of polystyrene board has an absolute relationship with
the tensile strength. The general EPS bulk density of 18Kg/m3 has a
tensile strength of 110-120KPa, and the bulk density of 20Kg/m3 is
around 140KPa. The bulk density of XPS is normally from 25Kg to
45Kg, and the strength is from 150KPa to 700KPa or higher. (The
premise is to meet the thermal conductivity of about 0.03).
The strength of the XPS board is 200KPa-250KPa. The XPS board of
most domestic manufacturers is basically 100~200kPa, and the EPS
board is below 100KPa. In the case of more and more abundant facade
decorations and frequent typhoons in coastal areas, the strength
appears to be very high. Important, especially for some external
wall tiles or high-rise buildings, both boards need to be
reinforced or fixed with fixings. The drawing of ceramic tiles must
be greater than 400KPa, even XPS cannot bear it. The solution is to
use expansion bolts to anchor the steel mesh to the base layer,
which can disperse the tensile stress in the three-dimensional
space, so as long as the anchoring is proper, the drawing damage
must be compounded The anti-cracking mortar layer of steel mesh is
not a big problem.
3. Weather resistance:
Weather resistance refers to the adaptability of the thermal
insulation system to external weather changes, and refers to a
series of quality-related issues such as the overall stability of
the system and whether the thermal insulation effect changes under
different climatic conditions. Weather resistance is a very
important indicator of the insulation system.
Since the EPS board has higher water absorption compared with XPS,
its weather resistance is not as good as the XPS system. However,
the ductility of the EPS board is better than that of the XPS
board, which can overcome certain defects. However, as far as the
system is concerned, the plastering glue on the outer layer of the
thin plastering system itself also has a certain waterproof
ability. Except during the construction process, the waterproof
performance of the intact two systems is acceptable. The contact
between the rainwater on the outer wall and the wall surface is on
the vertical surface. As long as the surface mortar does not crack,
there is no problem with waterproofing.
4. Breathability:
Breathability and water absorption are two problems! The size of
air molecules and water molecules is very different! Of course,
there is a saying that it is breathable and impermeable. There are
experiments to illustrate this point. For example, in Shenzhen. Put
a biscuit out, you don't have to pour water on the biscuit, and the
biscuit will soften in a day, because it absorbs water, and the
water it absorbs is water in the air, not liquid water.
In the insulation system, there is no product that dares to claim
that its products have good air permeability, good thermal
conductivity, good waterproof performance, and no water absorption.
Because these indicators are contradictory, and the breathability
also needs to pay attention to the breathability after wet water
during the construction process and the breathability after the
system is completed.
