1. Brief Description

 

The end fired furnace is named by the longitudinal arrangement of the burner port and the U shape of flame combustion route. At present, the end fired furnace is more widely used in the glass industry.

 

The melting process is divided into five stages as following, each section has its inner connection, affecting each other. If one stage has imperfect performance, it will influence the next stage, and ultimately affect the quality of glass.

 

Glass melting is the most important process in glass production, it is a forming process where the batched materials form a qualified liquid evenly with no bubbles under high temperature heating.

4. Main sections of furnace

 

  • Working tank

Normally, the semidiameter of working tank is equal to the width of the melting tank, the depth of the working tank is less than 300mm-400mm of the melting tank.

 

  • Dog house
Normally, the temperature of the dog house is about 1100°C~1400°C. The batched materials will be pre-melted at this section.
 
  • Port
It is the place where the fuel is mixed with the preheated air, also an access for the preheated air in to the furnace and exhausting the waste gas out.
 
  • Flame space
Flame space is a space which is combined with breast wall, crown, and front and back gable wall. 
 
  • Throat
Throat is a core section of the furnace, it will affect the quality of glass and furnace campaign. The temperature of glass will reduce when flowing through the throat.
 
  • Regenerator
The regenerator can heat the combustion air by exhausted gas coming out from the furnace with the help of checker brick. It can not only utilize the waste heat of gas, but also it can heat the combustion air to a higher temperature, which is useful to increase the working temperature. The waste gas can exhaust and the combustion air can go into the access.
