A radial fiber, also known as a radial-reinforced fiber or a spoke fiber, is a type of reinforcement fiber used in the construction of fiber-reinforced polymer composites. It is characterized by its orientation, which is radial or perpendicular to the circumferential direction of the composite structure.

 

Radial fibers are commonly used in the manufacturing of cylindrical or tubular composite structures, such as pipes, pressure vessels, and tanks. They are arranged in a spoke-like pattern, extending radially from the center of the structure towards the outer circumference.

SILICA OPTIC FIBER FOR LASER INTERVENTIONAL THERAPY
This silica/quartz optical fibers are used with laser therapy instruments, mainly transmitting 400-1000nm semiconductor laser,
1604nm YAG laser, and 2100nm holmium laser.
The application scope of the laser therapy instruments includes: varicose veins treatment, laser cosmetic, laser cutting
operation, laser
lithotripsy, disc herniation, etc.

360° RADIAL TIP FIBER produced by Hicorpwell applies energy faster and more accurately than any other fiber type in the endovenous market. FIBER (360°) used with SWING LASER ensures energy emission that guarantees homogenous photothermal destruction of the vein wall, allowing safe closure of the vein.

By avoiding perforation of the vein wall and associated thermal irritation of the surrounding tissue, intra- and post-operative pain is minimized, as are echymosis and other side-effects.

 

RADIAL FIBER provides simple and safe control and positioning of the fiber thanks to the excellent ultrasound visibility of the distal end of the fiber. RADIAL FIBER is equipped with safety markings for optimal control of the pullback process.

 

The primary function of radial fibers is to provide hoop strength and resistance to radial deformation or splitting.

They help to transfer loads and stresses from the matrix material to the reinforcing fibers, improving the overall strength and stability of the composite structure.

 

Radial fibers are often used in combination with circumferential or hoop fibers, which provide additional strength and stiffness in the circumferential direction. Together, these fiber orientations create a robust and well-balanced reinforcement system capable of withstanding various loading conditions.

Why Radial fiber?

When combined with the 980nm/1470 mm laser source, this laser fiber that emits at 360° affords the ideal endovenous thermal ablation.

It is therefore possible to gently and evenly introduce the laser energy into the lumen of the vein and ensure the closure of the vein based on photothermal destruction (at temperatures between 100 and 120°C).

 

Perforation of the vein wall (as in the case of the conventional bare tip fibre) and the associated thermal irritation of the surrounding tissue are prevented,thereby minimizing postoperative pain, ecchymosis, and other side effects. The Hicorpwell 360 Radial fiber (atraumatic fiber tip) is guided directly into the vein via a short introducer. Thanks to excellent visibility in ultrasound, the fiber tip can be optimally monitored and placed. Various publications have described the superiority of the Radial concept over the old generation of fibres.

Advantage

When using a conventional end-face fiber (figure on the right), the laser energy leaves the fiber ahead and is scattered by a
cone. At the same time, an abrupt increase in temperature to a few hundred degrees occurs in the tip of the light guide, which contributes to the formation of carbon deposits at the tip of the fiber, to the ruptures of the vein to be treated, and as a result to hematomas and pain in the postlaser period.

When using a radial light guide, the energy dissipates as a ring along the entire circumference of the vein (figure on the
right).This is just an advantage that allows you to make the process of processing the veins unprecedentedly accurate and uniform.

 

The effect of using such a fiber in comparison with the end - the ability to successfully handle the veins of any! diameter,absence of hematomas, pulling sensations in the postprocedural period. Terms of wearing compression knitwear after laser treatment using Radial technology are significantly reduced.

Construction of Fiber


This product consists of three parts. They are SMA905 standard connector, optical fiber, and protection tube. Optical fiber is made of quartz glass. SMA905 standard connector is copper. And protective tube is made of silicone rubber.

Optical fiber transmission efficiency: when the total length of the optical fiber is ≤ 5m, the transmission efficiency of the
corresponding wavelength is not less than 80% when it is placed flat.
