VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are harmful gases emitted from various industrial processes, including the oil industry. The treatment of VOCs is necessary to protect the environment and human health. After oil pumps, VOCs may be emitted into the atmosphere, so it is necessary to take measures to treat them.

One common method of VOC treatment is adsorption. Adsorption is a physical process in which VOCs are adsorbed onto a solid adsorbent. Activated carbon is a widely used adsorbent for VOC treatment. After the VOCs are adsorbed, they can be removed from the adsorbent by thermal desorption or catalytic oxidation.

An adsorber is a device equipped with an adsorbent that enables gas-solid or liquid-solid adsorption and desorption processes. Its main purpose is to separate certain components of gases or liquids or to remove harmful substances from them. The adsorber is usually equipped with a porous adsorbent inside, such as molecular sieve, activated carbon and so on.

When the gas or liquid passes through the adsorber, the components therein will be adsorbed by the adsorbent, thus realizing the purpose of separation or purification. The adsorbent can selectively adsorb certain components, e.g. water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, etc. The desorption process, on the other hand, releases the adsorbed components from the adsorbent and restores the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent.

There are various types and forms of adsorbers, which can be categorized into axial flow adsorbers and radial flow adsorbers according to the different directions of gas flow. In industrial applications, adsorbers are mainly used in the fields of gas separation, purification, purification and recovery.

In addition, there are adsorbers utilizing electrostatic membranes, which are mainly used to extract footprints on rigid planes. The principle is to use the electric field force of the electrostatic field to adsorb the dust footprint on the electrostatic membrane, so as to realize the extraction.
