Product Details

High Temperature Silica Fabric 34oz 1.2mm Brown Welding Spark Heat Protection

Woven silica fabric is high-temperature resistant material with a continuous operating temperature of 800°C. Comprised of high purity 80-90% amorphous silica fibers, this silica cloth is optimal in applications where E-glass fabrics would fail. Many applications require a cost effective way to service high temperature above 1000ºF. Unionfull offers a tough alternative with a 1500ºF service temperature, which is more durable in its operating range than glass fiber textiles.

Silica cloth is used widely for equipment and personnel protection in industrial fields including welding, shipbuilding, metals processing, refineries, foundries, power generation, and petrochemical. It can be applied to applications where thermal insulation is necessary to the reduction of maintenance and energy costs. This material with stable demension is heavy duty, flame resistant, electrical insulatin and chemical resistant.

Area weight of silica fabric is 1150g/m2 (about 34oz/yd2). This heavy duty cloth is 1.2mm thick. Standard width is 91.44cm.

For higher requirement of thermal insulation ability, you can ask for high silica fabric which is with more than 96% SiO2 silicone dioxide. High silica cloth is a high tensile strength and smooth woven articles with continuous filament silica yarns. This woven material can be used as a substitute for ceramic cloths due to its resistance to high temperature heat. This fabric is used widely in many fields. It can be treated with an coating to improve its abrasion resistance and electrical insulation.
