Manage lithium battery warehouse, do you know the requirement?

As lithium is a kind of metal that is particularly prone to chemical reactions, it is easy to explode and burn if improper handling with the process of packaging and transportation, accidents also occur from time to time, the warehouse management  are the following requirements:

1. basic Requirements

(1) lithium battery are dangerous goods; In order to ensure the safety of transportation, all lithium batteries (group) shall pass the UN38.3 test;

(2) due to lithium battery characteristics, the storage environment should be within 18-25 degrees.

(3) humidity requirements: effectively control warehouse humidity to avoid long-term extreme humidity (relative humidity is higher than 90% or lower than 40%).

(4) the lithium battery warehouse shall be separated by brick walls, and the warehouse shall be closed, explosion-proof or b equipped with other corresponding safety electrical lighting equipment.

(5) where inflammable and explosive goods are stored shall be equipped with sufficient variety of fire-fighting equipment and always in good condition.

(6) the places with lithium batteries must be prohibited from smoking

(7) it is not allowed to carry out operations that may cause fire near warehouses or places where inflammable and explosive articles are stored

2. Storage requirements

(1) batteries should be stored in well-ventilated, dry and cool places with high temperatures and humidity that may damage battery performance and/or corrode battery surfaces.

(2) the battery carton shall not be piled up beyond the specified height. If too many battery cartons are stacked together, the batteries in the bottom carton may be distorted and may leak liquid.

(3) batteries should not be stored or displayed in sunlight or exposed to rain.When the battery is showered, the insulation resistance decreases and self-discharging and rust may occur. Temperatures rising can damage batteries.

(4) the batteries will be stored and displayed in the original packaging. The batteries will be stacked randomly after the packaging is removed, which will cause short circuit and damage to the batteries

(5) articles that are easy to cause combustion and explosion and those with different fire fighting methods should be stored separately

3.Transportation requirements:

(1) when carrying out material, whatever tools are used, should be properly handled to prevent material falling or damage.

(2) load, lamination and directivity should be considered during material handling.

(3) when using forklift or cart, the loading method should be heavy first and then light. The materials being transported should not exceed the width and height of passageway and elevator door, and the speed should be moderate.

(4) the transporter should use qualified transportation tools (forklift, cart, etc.).

(5) the battery cardboard box should be carefully loaded and unloaded. Rough handling may lead to short circuit or damage of the battery, which may lead to liquid leakage, explosion or fire.

4. Processing Requirements

(1) lithium (original) batteries can be used for public waste treatment if they are not in conflict with local regulations.

(2) do not remove the battery.

(3) do not fire the battery except with an approved controlled furnace

5. other requirements

(1) the warehouse personnel shall check the cargo information every day. If the storage position is not correct, the account items are inconsistent, and quality problems are timely reported and dealt with, fire inspection shall be conducted at the end of work or after work, and power supply shall be cut off.

(2) clean and tidy the warehouse area every day, timely clean up the dirt and debris on the ground, and arrange the materials in the warehouse to the designated area to meet the requirements of neatness, neatness, cleanliness, hygiene and reasonable placement.

(3) keep the safe passageway in the warehouse unimpeded, eliminate accumulation and ensure the safety of personnel.

(4) the planning areas in the warehouse to have a clear identity, the material is put in to village store classification points, and have a clear identity.
