Dell PowerVault TL4000
Automated data protection
Regular, regular backups are a key part of a sound disaster
recovery strategy. The PowerVaultTM TL4000 Tape Library is powerful
enough to help organizations automate backup processing, reducing
the need for manual intervention and the risk of human error. Its
optical tape cassette positioning technology allows precise
operation of the cassette and inventory to help improve the overall
reliability of the backup.
Support for your Dell iSCSI SAN
Support for your Dell iSCSI SAN
To complement the development of Internet SCSI (iSCSI) storage area
networks (SANs), Dell has adopted iSCSI to SAS bridge cards in the
TL Series tape libraries (DellTM PowerVault TL2000 and TL4000).
Simplified operation
Simplified operation
Tapes can be imported or exported individually using the mailslot;
you can also import or export 12 tapes at a time using one of the
four magazines. The library uses barcode scanning technology to
record the location of the tape media, so you can rest assured that
your critical data can be properly stored and ready to use in the
event of a disaster.
Intuitive management
Intuitive management
The library's native, user-friendly LCD interface allows you to
easily monitor, manage, configure, and maintain your library. Even
if you are not in the same location as the library, you can
remotely manage all functions, including system status and logs,
troubleshooting and drive operations, and configuration and
inventory management.
Tape versatility
Tape versatility
The low cost and long-term reliability of tape helps ensure that it
is continuously used for backup and archiving. The portability of
the tape allows it to be carried out and stored in the data
compartment. In addition, LTO tape technology supports Write One
Read (WORM), a feature that allows data to be stored permanently
and cannot be overwritten to meet compliance regulations.
Dell PowerVault TL4000 Tape Library
Large capacity and small footprint
With its small body, the PowerVault TL4000 can store large amounts
of information in a very small space. With just four units (4U) of
rack space and up to 48 tapes, the library is ideal for small
office environments that manage data explosions.
Tape is also environmentally friendly
Tape is also environmentally friendly
If you have the characteristics and benefits of fine tape storage—such as reliability, portability, encryption, and long-term shelf life of tapes (more than 30 years) – it's the perfect solution for your long-term and short-term backups. Or archive requirements. In addition, after you store tape media, you don't need to use energy until you need to access it. The tape is “naturally” environmentally friendly because it does not require energy at all after storage.
