OEM customized laser cutting carbon steel plate Q235B processing service
Laser cutting service introduction
Laser cutting can be done on a variety of materials and thicknesses
While the speed of a laser cutter depends on the material, material thickness, laser type, laser frequency, and laser power, some laser cutting jobs typically have higher machining speeds than CNC milling machines, especially when the sheet thickness requires the CNC milling cutter to make multiple passes knife to complete the cut. Since laser cutting is zero-contact and does not require any additional force on the workpiece, the holding effort can be significantly reduced and more consistent parts can be produced. Finally, laser cutting creates a very small heat-affected zone (HAZ) that can also be much cooler than conventional cutting techniques that rely on shearing or grinding friction for cutting.
Unlike many other machine cutting techniques, laser cutting exerts virtually no force and stress on the workpiece material. This means that precise and intricate designs can be cut even from very delicate and thin materials such as leather, silk, and even thin precious metal foils. For many materials, the small heat-affected zone (HAZ) and thermal stress applied to the material enable cutting patterns that cannot be achieved by other methods.

However, before doing any laser cutting, the maximum cuttable thickness or laser cutting tolerance limits, which are material dependent, must be considered. Additionally, some highly reflective and translucent materials may be difficult or impractical to laser cut. There are different types of lasers i.e. Ultraviolet, Infrared and Far Infrared, where the frequencies of light used in the lasers process materials in different ways
