Product Details

1. Working Principle
Fiber optic gyroscopes are based on the Sagnac Effect: when light propagates in a closed optical path, if that path rotates, the light propagating in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions will produce a phase difference that is proportional to the angular velocity. The fiber optic gyroscope interferometrically measures this phase difference to calculate the angular velocity.
The 3-axis FOG uses three orthogonally aligned fiber optic gyroscopes to measure the angular velocity of rotation in three dimensions. This design not only reduces mounting errors and improves consistency and accuracy compared to multiple single-axis gyroscope combinations, but also optimizes size and power consumption.
