A flat bottom evaporating dish can also replace the crystallizing dish. Large size evaporating dish is mostly used in industrial small batch production tools, or used as oil bath and water bath

Advantages and disadvantages of a flat bottom:

Flat bottom: Placed smoothly. However, the disadvantage is that the heated surface is small, and the evaporated material left in the corners is not easy to scrape, and the washing is inconvenient.

Round bottom: The heating surface is large, which can speed up the evaporation. The evaporated material is easy to scrape, and the washing is convenient. The disadvantage is that the placement is not stable.

Instructions:

Wash and dry the evaporating dish, and pour the evaporated solvent into the evaporating dish (pour the used washing liquid such as the original container and the separatory funnel into the evaporating dish and heat it). Pour in The amount in the evaporating dish should not exceed 2 / 3 of the capacity. After the solvent is evaporated, it can be scraped off.

Precautions:

Heating on a water bath, the bottom of the dish should not be invaded by water in the water bath, evaporation can be carried out in a fume hood, not in the air, so as to prevent dust from falling into the evaporating dish.
