This specification refers to the RY series thermal cutoff. It is one-shot non-resettable electrical component, designed for thermal protection as electrical cutoff. If used for other purpose, or the instruction and cautions are not allowed, the product specification is not in effect.

 

The trigger part is a thermal pellet with special formula. The pellet presses Spring B and makes the contact connected under common temperature condition. When the working temperature of thermal link reaches the rated function temperature, the thermal pellet would melt and the spring B is released. Then, Spring A will push Star Contact and make it disconnected to lead. The circuit would be cut off permanently.

 

 

 

 

 

Mounting location: It needsrepeatedly verification to get a propermounting location. Infrared detector or thermocouple can be used for temperature detection so as to find out the protective temperature under malfunction. The designer should pay attention that the thermal link can only sense the intended heat source. For instance, when using the thermal link to heater, thermal link can not be connected to heating element directly, but through an non-heating wire to isolate from heating element to thermal link, so that the heat generated by heating element can not be transmitted to thermal link through lead. The thermal link is intended to mount the most sensitive location. If it is used in coil, it is better recess the thermal link inside of coil to improve the temperature sensitivity.

 

 

When fixing the hot fuse body with screws or rivets, the fixed position should be more than 10mm away from the hot fuse body itself. In addition, it should be noted that the lead wire should not be pulled when locking screws or rivets, so as to prevent the normal use of the hot fuse body from being affected by the pull of the lead wire or the pull of the lead wire from the hot fuse body itself.

 

When the heat-shrinkable sleeve is used to protect the surface insulation of the heat-melt body, it is necessary to pay attention to the control of the heat-shrinkable temperature and time, especially for the products with lower rated operating temperature, so as to prevent the heat-sensitive frit inside the heat-melt body from shrinking due to being melted by heat, thus affecting the normal use.An X-ray examination of the sample is performed after the thermal shrinkage operation is completed to verify compliance with the operation conditions.

When mounting,be careful of the short circuit of epoxy resin,for example,to avoid the contact between lead wireA and the case,otherwise,the current will flow from the lead wire on the epoxy resin seal side to the opposite lead wire so that the thermal-link can not break the circuit.Organic temperatuer-sensing thermal-link is live device,be sure that the case will have no contact with other metal mounting parts and insulation protection is provided on its surface.​

 

Notes:

 

When mounting lead wire ,be sure not to pull,push,twist at a sharp angle or burn it.Be careful not to damage,burn or overheat the epoxy resin seal or the case.

 

Lead wire welding: in the process of current welding of lead wire, the lead wire of thermal melt body also needs heat dissipation treatment.Lead wire welding should also follow the precautions and test procedures described in 7.2.2.In order to avoid the damage to the internal parts of the thermal melt body caused by electric welding, special care must be taken to avoid the introduction of welding current into the internal parts of the thermal melt body.The hundreds of amperes of welding current will weld the internal parts together, causing the thermal fuse to fail to break the circuit.
