1.  General speaking, most of the electric circuits in gas price led display are called "series 【electric】 circuit". Please see the one in the graphics;

The disadvantage of it is when one led does not work, all the series will not work, either. 

Here the voltage is 12VDC, so each led gets about 3VDC; when the four white leds all work well, they will all work all well;

2. Since the electric circuit is series circuit, suitable electric voltage for each led is 3VDC. Here when 12VDC is divided by three leds, each led gets 4VDC. So the THREE leds will emit more light than FOUR leds. 

3. Problems solved: change the resistance value of the CORNER THREE LEDS. This problem is easy to be solved；

5VDC power supply design will have the above two problems solved completely. Since with 5VDC power supply, each DIP546 led lamps has separate energy supply. When one led lamp does not work, it will not affect the neighboring led lamps. The master card and slave card can also be changed to accept 5VDC power supply.
