Addition of elements such as, Molybdenum and chromium can raise the resistance levels of the API 5L Gr B Pipe to both cracking and corrosion as well.
API 5L X42 pipe (L290 pipe)is labeled by its minimum yield strength, 42100 Psi or 290 Mpa. It is a greater category than Grade B and is a low-medium grade pipe.
