1. Description:
Hexagon head bolts, commonly called hex head cap screws, are bolts with a hexagonal or six sided head. Hex bolts has six sided headare the industry standard for fasteners with forged heads. A common feature on a hex cap screw is a washer surface directly under the head which creates a better seal..A hex head screw bolt is actually produced within tighter tolerances and can be used anywhere a hex head bolt is used for.
The term “high strength” is one of rather ambiguous fastener terms. Many people in the industry would interpret the phrase “high strength” to refer to any bolt that has been quenched and tempered to develop its strength. Additionally, the ASTM specification ASTM A325 A490 is commonly referred to as being manufactured from a “high strength, alloy steel”, even though this material is not heat treated.Each different about the hex head bolt material has particular properties to fit specific applications. 3. Applications:
Because of its fully threaded body, this is used in many of applications such as in the vehicle repair industry when attaching a motor to a machinery. Different form a screw TYPE, hex bolts are designed to be inserted through holes in assembled parts, because these do not have their own mating internal threads and are tightened by torqueing the head. Hex bolts are not pointed where hex bolt have a chamfered point to protect the first thread from damage and to faciliate entry into an internally threaded part such as a nut or tapped holes.Also, these can be used with pulley to adjust the belt tension
