HSD series horizontal spray dryer

 

Brief introduction

 

HSD Series Horizontal Spray Dryer is different from the conventional vertical spray drier. Rectangular tower body lies on the ground, the gun from the side of the tower body feeding, discharging from the other side. The material can be sprayed by high pressure pump and then fully contacted with the hot air which is on the same side. Dried in a very short of time. The finished product falls on the bottom plate of the tower due to gravity, and the material on the plate is gone through the scraper to enter the receiving port.
After drying, the finished product has good fluidity, small residual, manual loading, good stability, uniform particle size and high yield.


Widely used in egg yolk protein, blood cells, plasma, food, chemical and other industries.

Features

  • More average particle size, higher yield, less waste and less loss;
  • No elbow, eliminate the phenomenon of pipe clogging;
  • The system has smaller resistance, lower pressure fan could be adopted with lower energy consumption;
  • The space is compact. Air blower, exhaust fan and heater can be placed on the top of the tower to reduce the occupied area. The equipment height is reduced by more than half than vertical type.

 

Working principles


After the air is filtered by the filter and heated by the heater, it goes into hot air distributor which is in

drying chamber. Through the hot air distributor, hot air will enter the drying chamber evenly. At the

same time, feeding pump will send liquid material to pressure spraying gun(nozzle). The liquid material

will be sprayed into fine droplets. It makes the contact area of liquid material and hot air much

bigger, moisture is evaporated quickly. In a very short time, liquid material is dried into powder. Powder

falls the dryer bottom down. Most of products are received by the transmission of scraper and auger.

Less finery powder will go with tail gas into bag-type dust collector which is at the end of drying

chamber. Dust and powder are collected by screw conveyor. Tail gas is exhausted by fan.

 

The features of this machine are:


1. The speed of drying is very rapid
The surface area of the material is greatly increased after the pressure spray, and the moisture of 90~95% can be evaporated instantaneously in the high temperature air. It takes only ten seconds to dozens of seconds to complete the drying time.
2. space is smaller
Compared with the vertical spray dryer, the model adopts the horizontal inlet feed method, the height of the equipment is greatly reduced and the dust removal device is not designed by the split body. The structure is compact and arrangement is reasonable. So, the area is greatly reduced, the investment of the factory building and the load bearing of the equipment are also reduced accordingly.
3. High quality product
The structure of the equipment is more simple. The drying time of the product is short and the coarse and fine powder of the product is collected. It can meet all kinds of quality indexes, such as the size distribution, the shape of the product, the quality of the product, the color, aroma, taste, biological activity and the wet content of the product.
4. Easy operation and cleaning.
The model is more simple in operation, higher in automation and lower in failure rate. The internal cleaning of the equipment is convenient and no dead angle. Compared with the vertical dryer, the machine has no hidden dangers of aerial work from production, installation, cleaning up to maintenance.

 

 

Plant configurations and structure description

 

Types of heater
Because of the different heat sources used by the users, usually there are electric energy, steam, natural gas flue gas, coal, oil and so on. The form control of the heating furnace is different. It can be selected according to the requirements of the products and the conditions of various places. Types of conventional heaters:


1). Electric heater
2). Steam heat exchanger
3). Heat transfer heat exchanger
4) direct or indirect combustion of natural gas (or other gases).
5). Direct / indirect combustion of coal
6). Direct / indirect combustion oil
7). Flue gas

Currently, this machine adopts steam heat transfer, electric heating and direct heating of natural gas.

 

2. Air filter
According to different requirements, air inlet of the system is usually equipped with an air filter. Here are optional choices:
1). Rough air filter
2). Medium effect air filter
3). Sub-efficient air filter
4). High efficiency filter
5). High temperature and high efficiency filter

 

3. Hot air distributor
Hot air enters the drying chamber horizontally, hot air and droplets make exchanges of heating and mass. On the one hand, promote the contact of gas and liquid and strengthen the drying process. On the other hand, to prevent the wall of semi wet material from sticking to the wall.

 

4. Types of feed pump
Following are feed pump types of pressure spray dryer:

Pressure spray gun/nozzle


Main advantages:
1) Simple structure and low cost
2) Easy maintenance and convenient assembly
3) Compared with air flow and centrifugal type, atomization power is relatively lower.

 

The main disadvantages of the pressure spray gun/nozzle are:
1) A high pressure pump needs to be matched.
2) Because the spraying hole is small, it must be filtered effectively to prevent from blockage.
3) Spray sheet is easily worn, for larger wear materials, sprayed sheet should be made of wear-resistant material.
4) High viscosity material is not atomized easily.

 

6. Drying chamber
The drying chamber is composed of shell, frame, internal barrel body and insulation layer. There is frame between external barrel body and the internal barrel which is filled with thermal insulation cotton with 100mm. The design of a reasonable drying chamber size can meet the drying capacity while reducing the viscosity of the tower as much as possible. The hot air inlet and outlet of the drying room are respectively equipped with a thermal resistance measuring temperature, and the temperature indicator is installed on the electric operation cabinet. For observation of the spray condition, the drying room is equipped with an illuminating lamp and an observation window. In order to be convenient for cleaning, the drying room has a cleaning door.

 

7. Air-solids separator
According to the requirements of product characteristics and the environmental requirements of various materials, the dryer is equipped with the following air-solid separators.
1). Cyclone separator
2). Diffused separator
3). Bag filter/filter house/dust collector
4). Wet scrubber/or Wet dust collector
5). Settling chamber
6). Electrostatic precipitator

 

Note:

The wet scrubber/ dust collector is divided into Venturi wet scrubber and spray wet dust collector. The bag-type dust collector has several choices, such as conventional bag type, film-Laminated cloth bag, high temperature resistant cloth bag , anti static cloth bag and so on.
At present, the common separation device is a bag filter.

 

8. Waste heat Recuperator
From the tail gas, the waste heat is recycled and reused. The tail gas (temperature 80-120) will be heated to 40-70 C through the two indirect heat exchange of the device, which can greatly reduce the energy consumption of the dryer and reduce the operation cost by about 10-20%

 

9. The centrifugal fan and air regulator
The centrifugal fan is selected according to the capacity of the machine. The air volume of the fan can be adjusted according to the pressure of the tower and the inlet & outlet temperature. The adjustment form can be manual and automatic, and the electric actuator can be automatically completed by increasing the electric device.

 

10. Electric cabinet control
Here are some control types of spray dryer. You could choose it as per product requirement and control precision.
1). Conventional control
2). PLC control (touch screen control)
3). DCS control (computer control)

 

The operation of the whole machine is controlled by an electronic control cabinet.
