Polyimide Heating Element

 

Polyimide (polyimide film) film is an organic material with very high dielectric capability, thin flexible profile and low thermal mass, while providing superior resistance to most solvents, acids, and radiation. Being transparent, Polyimide (polyimide film) heater allows easy visual inspection of the internal foil circuit structure.

 

Introduction

Flexible polyimide film heaters in need of various shapes, sizes and power are available. this type of heater is very thin (the thickness is 0.25mm top) and able to bent arbitrarily, which allows close thermal contact with the heated subject to reach maximum heating efficiency. Polyimide film heater is a translucent or transparent metallic electric heating film, resistive circuit made of special alloy is covered PI films with excellent temperature tolerance and insulation. Compared with filiform electrothermal structure, PI heaters provides more uniform thermal field, shorter heating period and shifter response, lower power load but longer service life.PSA or Epoxy resin are optional for installation.


The heating and anti-freezing of satellites, aero equipment and mobile devices uses PI heaters due to its light weight, toughness and heat uniformity.The working voltage of the product can be 1-100V and the circuit can be customized according to the heating requirement, which is very flexible.Oil, chemical corrosion and radiation tolerance makes it suitable in severe environment.

 

 

 

 

Foil Element

Polyimide (polyimide film) heaters make use of very thin (e.g. 50μm) etched metal (usually nickel based alloy) foil as
resistance element. The resistance pattern to be etched is designed in CAD and transferred to the foil, which is then
processed through acid spray to produce the desired resistance pattern.
