A load cell (or loadcell) is a transducer which converts force into
a measurable electrical output. Although there are many varieties
of loadcells, strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used
type which is comprised of a solid metal body on which
strain gauges have been secured to form a wheatstone bridge which
delivers mV/V output.
Output signal of load cell FCFK:
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Miniature Flange Load Cell FCFK is normally around
2.0mV/V.
Power supply of Thrust Force Sensor FCFK is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Compression Type Force Transducer FCFK is
normally within 0…+30mV.
Example one: Miniature Column Load Cell FCFK-100N with 2.0V/V
sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is 0mV...+10mV.
Example two: Miniature Flanged Load Cell FCFK-200N with 2.0mV/V
rated output powered by 10V DC,the output range is -0mV...+20mV.
The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be
processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load
cell to deliver 0~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Micro Compression Load Cell FCFK-10N working with
amplifier FSC(0-10V)-24V,the Load-Voltage relationship will be
0-10N compression force VS 0-10V output, which is linear regardless
of the measurement error, 1V output corresponds to 1N compression
load, 2V output corresponds to 2N compression load, and so on.
Example two: Miniature Thrust Force Load Cell FCFK-20N working with
amplifier FSC(4-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current relationship will be
0-20N compression force VS 4-20mA output, which is linear
regardless of the measurement error, 4mA output corresponds to “0”
load, 5.6mA output corresponds to 2N thrust force, 12mA output
corresponds to 10N thrust force, and so on.
Load cell FCFK can also work with digital indicator FPT to deliver
below functions:
-Display force value in real time
-Peak holding to grab the maximum force during testing
-RS485 or RS232 interface
-0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA analog output
-Switch output
