A load cell (or loadcell) is a transducer which converts force into
a measurable electrical output. Although there are many varieties
of loadcells, strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used
type which is comprised of a solid metal body on which
strain gauges have been secured to form a wheatstone bridge which
delivers mV/V output.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flange Load Cell FFA is around 2mV/V.
Power supply is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output signal of Flange Type Force Transducer FFA is
normally within -30mV...+30mV for tension/compression measurement.
Example one: Flange Type Compression Load Cell FFA-500N with
2.0mV/V rated output powered by 3.3V DC,the output range is
-6.6mV...+6.6mV.
Example two: Flange-to-Flange Tension/Compression Force Sensor
FFA-1kN with 2.0mV/V rated output powered by 5V DC, the output
range is -10mV...+10mV.
A load cell signal conditioner can be used to convert mV signal
into 0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA for easy signal processing.
Example one: Tension Compression Force Sensor FFA-10kN working with
amplifier FSC(-10-10V)-24V, the force-voltage relationship
will be 0-10kN compression force VS 0-10V output, 0-10kN tension
force VS 0-(-10V) output.
Example two: Pull And Push Load Cell FFA-5kN working with amplifier FSC(4-12-20mA)-24V,the force-current relationship will be 0-5000N compression force VS 12-20mA output, 0-5kN tension force VS 12-4mA output.
