94/6 TGIC Polyester Resin with Excellent Leveling for Matte Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
NH3407 is a saturated carboxyl polyester resin for polyester/TGIC powder coating
system.
Powder coatings are widely used because of their solvent-free, environment-friendly, high powder recovery, and utilization rate. Powder coatings can be divided into thermoplastic and thermosetting coatings. Thermoplastic powder coating takes thermoplastic resin as film-forming material, which is characterized by that the synthetic resin becomes soft with the increase of temperature, and becomes hard after cooling. This process can be repeated many times, and each change will gradually age, eventually becoming a non plastic powder. Thermosetting powder coatings are based on thermosetting synthetic resins as film forming materials. It is characterized by using some low degree of polymerization prepolymer resin, curing at a certain temperature in the presence of curing agent, to become a hard final product that cannot be melted or melted. When the temperature is rising, the product can only be decomposed and can no longer be softened, which belongs to chemical change. Because of its low molecular weight, the resin has good leveling and wettability, can firmly adhere to the surface of metal workpiece, and has good decorative and anti-corrosion properties after curing. However, powder coatings are always used as decorative coatings in China.
