Dell Unity XT hybrid flash array

Cost-effective design. The Unity XT Hybrid Flash Array (HFA) is fully unified, starting in a compact 2U form factor, and its architecture is designed for workloads that do not require all-flash performance and its submillisecond latency. Unity XT HFA takes full advantage of the new Intel dual-socket processor and high-capacity controller memory, doubling the performance of IOPS compared to previous Unity models. Unity XT HFA includes linear multicore extensions that provide inline data reduction with zero detection for blocks and files in hybrid and all-flash pools. Unity XT HFA is also equipped with FAST Cache (SSD read cache) software, which can automatically adjust flash performance to achieve disk economy.

Unity XT HFA enables a dual active controller architecture to ensure data access and 99.999% system availability.

Cost-effective-if higher performance, capacity, and higher system limitations are required, array controllers can be effectively upgraded to a higher level of Unity XT HFA while keeping data in place and online. Consolidation-if you have multiple demanding environments, such as database and transaction processing environments, Unity XT HFA can easily consolidate them to save space and costs, while improving data management, data protection, and response time. Data migration-even if you have been using legacy Dell systems (Dell Unity, VNX) or third-party storage systems, migrating data to Unity XT HFA is fairly simple. Unity XT HFA provides built-in best practice-based data migration capabilities for files and block data managed directly from Unisphere, so that your migration process can be completed smoothly. File migrations from NetApp and VNX can also be performed through Cloud Tiering Appliance. Advanced File-the Unity XT HFA unified architecture supports a 64-bit file system that scales to four times the size of the earlier VNX platform, adding features such as file system reduction and recycling to improve utilization and flexibility, the ability to use Top Talkers or file association statistics, and fully synchronous / asynchronous file replication in conjunction with Metrosync file failover management. Integrated replica data management-Unity XT HFA provides customers with integrated replica data management (iCDM) to save capacity and cost by leveraging Dell AppSync application awareness and orchestration capabilities to support snapshot movement and thin clone interoperability.

Unity XT HFA is designed to support multi-cloud interoperability, enabling you to configure deployment options that suit your business model and expected business outcomes. Validated Design-Unity XT HFA, which provides block and file storage, is validated and can be used with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), enabling you to build your own hybrid cloud based on VCF and superior components to easily provision storage. Multi-cloud data services enabled with Faction for Unity XT-Unity XT HFA is powered by Faction and participates in automated DRaaS solutions through VMware Cloud on AWS for smooth enterprise disaster recovery with pay-as-you-grow in the cloud. In addition, you can also achieve agile multi-cloud access, switching smoothly between different clouds according to different application scenarios, including workload migration, analysis, test / development, etc., to maximize business results.
