Standard: ASTM A214 / ASME SA214

Steel grade: Low carbon steel

Material shall conform to the applicable requirements of specification A450/A450M

Carbon, max, %0.18
Manganese, %0.27-0.63
Phosphorous, max. %0.035
Sulfur, max, %0.035

Process: Welded and cold drawn

The tubes cover minimum wall thickness.

Application: tubular heat exchangers, condensers, and other heat transfer apparatus

 

Dimensional range:

OD: 19.05-76.2mm

Any specific size is to be discussed before offer

 

The tube be 100% eddy current tested

Ultrasonic test is as option

Straightness ≤1mm/1000mm

Roughness: Ra ≤0.8

 

Heat treatment

After welding, all tubes shall be heat treated at a temperature not less than 900℃ and followed by cooling in air or in the cooling chamber of a controlled atmosphere furnace. Cold drawn tubes shall be heat treated after the final cold drawing pass at a temperature not less than 650℃

 

Test

  • The tubes shall have a hardness test, it is not exceeding 72HRB.
  • One flattening test shall be made on specimens from each of two tubes from each lot or fraction thereof.
  • One flaring test shall be made on specimens from each of two tubes from each lot or fraction thereof.
  • One reverse flattening test shall be made on a specimen from each 450m of finished tubing.
  • Brinell or Rockwell hardness tests shall be made on specimens from two tubes from each lot.(when the final heat treatment is in a continuous furnace, a lot shall include all tubes of the same size and heat, heat treated in the same furnace at the same temperature, time at heat, and furnace speed)
  • Each tube shall be subjected to the hydrostatic test or the nondestructive electric test. The client may specify which test is to be used.

 

Surface quality

The finished tubes shall be free of scale. A slight amount of oxidation shall not be considered as scale.

Tubes shall be delivered with square cut ends. The ends are free of excessive burrs.

The tubes are bundled in the waterproof plastic sheet and packed in the wooden cases

The case is most suitable for hanging by forklift.

EN10204-3.1 MTC shall be issued
