Types of reducers
1. According to its radius of curvature: it can be divided into long radius elbow and short radius elbow. The reducer is a kind of socket and insert pipe fittings. If the diameter specification of the reducer does not match the inner diameter of the process pipeline, the corresponding diameter reduction or expansion treatment should be carried out. Whether the pressure loss will affect the process flow. In order to prevent the installation of the reducer from affecting the distribution of the flow velocity field, resulting in pressure loss, thereby reducing the measurement accuracy of the electromagnetic flowmeter, the required central cone angle α is not greater than 15°, the smaller the better. Reducers are mainly used in the following places:
1. When the flow rate of the fluid in the pipeline changes, such as increasing or decreasing, and the flow rate requirement does not change much, it is necessary to use a reducer.
2. The inlet of the pump is to prevent cavitation.
3. At the joints with instruments, such as flow meters and regulating valves, in order to cooperate with the joints of the instruments, reducers are also required.
