Titanium doped sapphire (Ti3+:Al2O3) is a popular tunable laser crystal for femtosecond solid-state lasers in the world. It is famous for its supreme thermal and optical properties. It is also known as the best material for ultrashort pulse generation with wide range of emission band from 660 to 1050 nm which is red and near-infrared light. In addition, high repetition rate oscillators, Chirped-pulse laser amplifiers and Wavelength tunable CW lasers are the common usage.

As for femtosecond lasers, it is mainly applied to scientific research, biological imaging, life sciences and precision material processing. This kind of laser systems offer a high average power and a broad tuning range among others.
