1756-CNBR ControlLogix is an Allen-Bradley Redundant Bridge Interface Module that facilitates communication inside a ControlNet Network. This redundant media device is suitable for real-time, high-throughput industrial applications. What makes this module different from the 1756-CNB is the presence of an additional ControlNet port that supports redundant media. The module features two ControlNet BNC ports whilst the 1756-CNB only features 1, though both of them possess 1 ControlNet RJ45 port. This Redundant Bridge Module has 5.1 Watts, 5 Megabytes per second (Mbps) and 40 to 48 Logix Communication Connections. Together with the Logix5550 Controller, the 1756-CNBR also regulates the flow of scheduled data and bridges unscheduled data existent between ControlNet and ControlLogix. To avoid the loss of communication when a tap is disconnected, consider using redundant ControlNet media. For that particular connection, the 1756-CNBR is the only suitable module.
Typically, the current from this module is 970 mA at 5.1 Volts DC and 1.7 mA at 24 Volts DC. In addition to that, the 1756-CNBR can support up to 20 buffers meant for unconnected messages. There are also 99 nodes available. Before carrying out any installations, check the label attached to the tap drop cable. This is to ensure that any connections to the tap will not be accidentally reversed. In the event that this is not done, reversals will occur that will require troubleshooting and faulty status conditions to be displayed. It utilizes the Common Industrial Protocol (abbreviated as CIP) to combine an input/output network and a peer-to-peer network functionality, delivering high-performance capabilities for both functions. The 1756-CNBR has a continuous isolation voltage of 30 Volts and it occupies any chassis-based slot. It can be utilized with both standard and redundant power supplies. If users are installing a redundant system, they should position the primary as well as redundant modules in a common slot in their corresponding chassis pair.
