HDD, also known as horizontal directional drilling, is a low-impact
method that uses surface-based trenchless equipment to install
pipes, cables, or conduits along slight curves or slopes. However,
these two terms are different. Directional drilling refers to
drilling a smaller diameter in a shorter distance, while a
horizontal directional drilling or HDD means a larger diameter and
a longer distance.
