Product Highlights of OptiX OSN 1800 V Packet Enhanced

  • MS-OTN compliance and compact design (5U-high), supporting the access of any-rate services

    • A single OptiX OSN 1800 chassis supports full-granular cross-connections and multiplexing. It allows for a maximum of 700 Gbit/s OTN capacity, 700 Gbit/s packet capacity, and 280 Gbit/s SDH higher-order and 20 Gbit/s SDH lower-order capacities. This significantly improves line bandwidth utilization.
    • The OptiX OSN 1800 supports universal line boards, and allows services being scheduled on the OTN, SDH, PKT service planes to seamlessly share line transmission bandwidth.
    • Being highly integrated, each OptiX OSN 1800 chassis is 5 U high and provides a maximum of 15 service slots.
    • Targeted for metro edge applications, the OptiX OSN 1800 can be deployed as service access or aggregation nodes, and supports uniform backhaul of full services (1.5 Mbit/s to 100 Gbit/s).

Product Highlights of OptiX OSN 1800 I/II Compact

  • Transmission of all services over a single network

    • The OptiX OSN 1800 encapsulates all services, from low-rate services (such as FE services) to high-bandwidth services (such as 10G services), into OTN frames for transmission.
    • The xPON is applied to reduce fiber attenuation in the PON system deployed in urban areas and provide a reliable protection solution within 50 ms.
  • Long-distance transmission with fewer nodes

    • The standard OTN interface supports the forward error correction (FEC) function. After OTN technology is applied to the traditional CWDM system, a transmission distance of up to 120 km (33 dB) is supported, a great improvement compared to the traditional 80 km limit.
    • When EDFA is added, the transmission can be further increased to 170 km, long enough for metropolitan transmission.
  • Lower maintenance expenditure and operation expenditure

    • Multi-service, long-distance, and large-capacity transmission helps simplify the network structure.
    • The service processing and switching equipment, network management system (NMS), and OSS are all configured at the central node in the system.
